On Monday, a judge sentenced a 61-year-old Ohio woman to prison time for killing her tenant’s German shepherd. According to the Zanesville Times Recorder, Patricia Dyer was sentenced to 18 months in prison for her fatal shooting of the dog last summer.

Dyer was working as a manager at the Friendly Hills campground in Zanesville last August when she tried to evict a man and his dog, Lincoln. When she was told that she would have to file a formal eviction in court to make the man leave, she instead took his dog to a nearby river and fatally shot him.

She pleaded guilty to three felony charges last month stemming from the incident. She has admitted to killing the dog because his owner would not leave the campground.
