Last November, a horse slated for slaughter was given a reprieve when she was rescued and taken in by a California non-profit rescue agency. All Seated in a Barn (ASIAB) did not realize that the horse they rescued was pregnant.
On Friday, March 18, the rescued mare delivered her surprise baby, who has been named Ziggy. The rescue group describes the new arrival as “absolutely perfect!”
Later that same day, the group noted that the baby was is a HE instead of a she.
Because – today HE was much needed ♥️
The next day, ASIAB shared a heartwarming Facebook post about the beautiful new arrival, and what he means to his loving mom.
I am so proud of his mom – what an amazing mom she is. I almost feel like SHE needed him. She needed this precious gift – she deserves to feel nothing but love — and when you are next to her and she does the sweetest nicker to her baby, just to say hi, just to check in, it is the most heart warming thing ♥️
