Walter was found running around as a stray and brought to the New York City Animal Care Centerin Brooklyn by the person who found him. He was easy to handle and loved to be petted at the shelter, but has been reactive with other dogs and of course, he therefore needs to be the one and only pet in a home.

Tragically, today the goofball pup who loves to be carrying around a toy in his mouth, is scheduled to be humanely euthanized. Walter doesn’t know today is his last day and lives to have fun; he just can’t wait to share his enthusiasm for life with everyone he meets.

It’s not the city where dreams are made for the unwanted and unloved. He has no idea what awaits him today, and I guess that is a good thing. Please give him a chance – I think everyone needs lots of happy in their life right now!

Walter is not reserved. “black and white cookie ball” #130503 waits at the New York City Animal Care Center in Brooklyn. He is recommended for an experienced home without young kids. He is estimated to be 4 years old, weighs 60lbs and his ID is #130503.”

A volunteer writes:

“This black and white cookie is Walter, and he is the reigning sploot champion of BACC! Walter LOVES to play and this smart cookie knows where the toys are. As soon as we exit for our walk he races over to the toy bin to pick out some balls. In the yard we offer him a squeaky toy and he literally dances around with it! Once the balls come out he shows us that he is an enthusiastic and sprightly fetch player. He leaps over the play set and plays to his heart’s content. Then comes the most magnificent sploots we have seen in quite a while – and we have seen some amazing sploots in our day! Walter even sploots under the bench, where he goes to relax after his energy is spent.
