Witnesses to a brutal attack on a small dog in Hollywood, California, took matters into their own hands this week. As reported by NBC Los Angeles, a group of people saw a man slamming a dog to the ground and kicking him on Tuesday – the man’s attack on the dog prompted them to take action.
Some people got out of their cars to stop the man who was hurting the dog – others witnessing the incident joined in. The group tackled the suspected animal abuser when he tried to run away and video shows them beating him as he falls to the ground.
Actress Jena Malone told the news agency why she got involved:
“I pulled over and started chasing him because it’s absolutely not OK.”
The man tackled by the good Samaritans told the news agency that he went after the dog, who belongs to his mother, because the dog wasn’t listening to him. He claimed that the dog was not hurt, but his mother told NBC News that her dog did suffer a broken leg from the attack.
When police arrived they arrested the man for suspicion of animal cruelty – his name has not been released.

Fantastic that bystanders helped this precious little treasure!!! Such a small dog, he could have very easily been killed by this POS…….
If that POS were my son, disinherited, locks changed until I could move (& no forwarding address)…… he deserves to stay in jail forever…… he has a reserved spot in the hottest part of Hell waiting for him so he can burn forever for his cruelty……..
BTW: I know a woman who did exactly this to her “bad news adult son”. Completely severing ties with her horrible eldest son was the only way she could save the rest of her family from his violent abuse.
Turns out the dog was not the abusers mothers dog. The dog went missing/stolen the week before. The dog had a micro chip and has been returned to her real owner. A go fund me has been set up because the dog has multiple leg fractures and broken ribs and will need surgery. The dogs name is Champion.
