ESPN sportscaster Scott Van Pelt dedicated an emotional segment honoring his beloved dog named Otis who recently passed away.
He was the King of our home.
Honor him.
One big thing.
See you after the draft.

Otis had been a great dog, and Scott wanted everyone to know how much he had meant to the entire family. He described how Otis would always come running to him when he returned home, and how just the wagging of Otis’ tail would make him feel so great. And now that Otis has passed away, it’s that cheerful feeling Scott would get enjoying his dog’s companionship, that he would miss the most.
After the show tonight, I’d rather drive all the way from D.C. to the Pacific Ocean, instead of taking a short ride home, where I’m going to sit in the dark waiting for my Otie boy. Nothing we do could earn what our dogs give away to us for free.

And Scott’s advice to all of us who know one day we will likely have to say goodbye to our beloved dogs – you know these tail-wagging furry partners who stretch out their paws with their butts in the air when they awaken ready to bestow upon us mere mortals their love, trust and loyalty.
Love on your good boys and your good girls with all your might – every day that you can. There aren’t ever enough of them.
