In Coventry, Rhode Island, the family pooch is being lauded as a hero after alerting his family the house was on fire. No one was injured.
According to KatvNews, the dog named Cooter awakened the family of five early Thursday morning. The fire started on the exterior of the home, and the dog had become agitated waking the family up about 1:00 a.m. to see what was wrong.
The homeowner was too upset to speak with news media, however he shared a photo of Cooter who has been a recent addition to the family.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about an hour. The home was heavily damaged. Coventry Fire Chief Frank Brown said the fire is under investigation.
Congrats Cooter! You are a good dog!
