Two dogs in Fort Worth, Texas, were surrendered to an animal shelter after witnessing the murder of their owner. On Sunday morning, Saving Hope Rescue posted images of the dogs, explaining what happened:

They witnessed a double homicide yesterday morning, their owner being one of the victims. The daughter of the owner took them to the shelter yesterday to get them to safety. The shelter asked us to take them. While one needs medical treatment for her eye, what’s more pressing is getting them to a loving foster home where they can feel safe. They are scared and don’t understand what’s happening here. And they are currently sitting in cage at our vet’s office because we have no room.

The rescue group hoped to find a home for the dogs and an update to the post indicates that a foster home WAS secured. The rescue organization is now looking for a loving permanent home to take the homeless dogs in.
