Two dogs in California are in need of a new home after a drunk driver struck their owner’s car, killing them both. Saving Riverside Shelter Dogs shared the sad situation on Thursday, writing:

Aaron McDonald, 31, and his 30-year old fiancée Irene Jaramillo, were heading home from a birthday party early Saturday morning, when their vehicle was struck by an intoxicated San Bernardino resident, during a police chase. Tragically, the newly engaged couple didn’t survive. 😢 Our hearts are absolutely broken for their family & friends.

Explaining that their two dogs, Apollo and Rocky, are now at the Riverside County Animal Control because nobody in the couple’s family was able to take them in.

The networking Facebook page provided additional information about the dogs, writing:

The dogs are now being housed at Riverside Shelter main campus. Both dogs are considered confiscations will be possibly available to rescue 4/15/22. Apollo is very protective & had to be sedated by animal control to be brought to the shelter. These dogs will likely need someone extremely BREED SAVY w/ EXPERIENCE. It is said that family members even had a difficult time handling Apollo.
Please share these dogs for EXPERIENCED REPUTABLE RESCUE.

  1. This is so sad……. A few months ago there were 2 very friendly, well loved and trained pitties surrendered due to their owner’s death. No one in the family wanted them ???Sadly they were both euthanized……..

I would hate to see this same fate happening to these two precious treasures……..
