A couple near Medford, Wisconsin, killed a bear on Friday night after it charged through a window, and into their home. According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s office, the couple said that the bear charged at them after they saw her eating from a bird feeder and yelled at her to go away.
After the bear entered the home, the couple tried to fight her off with a kitchen knife. Eventually, the husband escaped to grab a gun and killed the bear. The couple sustained bites and “other injuries” that required treatment at a hospital; they were released.
Wildlife officials identified the bear as an adult female – a cub was spotted nearby. The type of bear killed has not been specified.
