The Houston SPCA rescued more than 80 animals living in trash littered and filthy conditions on Monday from two different homes in the Galveston area.

During the first rescue, in Hitchcock, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office seized three horses and a calf located on the second floor of the house. Also rescued were 11 dogs, nine puppies, one rabbit, two pythons, including a Burmese and a Ball and one dwarf caiman.

Later in the afternoon, the La Marque Police Department served a seizure warrant for 52 cats where the animals had been living in squalor filled with feces and urine.

The animals are now in the care of the Houston SPCA where they are receiving medical care.

At this time, no charges have been filed against the homeowners.
