Update: Safe – rescued!
A badly neglected dog, infested with ticks, is past the safe “stray hold” period at a busy Texas animal shelter. The five-year-old German shepherd mix, dubbed Malone, was picked up as a stray and taken to the San Antonio Animal Services facility; his “due out” date was June 25.
Malone has dozens of ticks clearly visible n his ears…they are more than likely in multiple areas on his body. It is clear that Malone did not have anyone who cared enough to treat him properly and he is undoubtedly miserable.
Little is known about Malone. The only information that has been shared came from a SAPA Urgents And Adoptables Facebook post on Saturday:
THIS PET HAS RECEIVED TICK TREATMENT AND HAS BLOOD WORK RUNNING PER ACS**
And a dire word of warning about Malone’s precarious situation:
THIS DOG IS IN ACS KENNELS & AT RISK OF BEING KILLED. SHELTER EVALUATES SPACE AT: 9:30am Mo at, and again at 5 pm Mon-Fri & 3 pm Sat, or at any time as space is needed.
Please share Malone’s adoption information. He needs to be pulled from the facility and given proper care.
