In the desert areas of Moreno Valley, California, two young dogs were abandoned by their owner. In the middle of nowhere, not knowing where they had been left, scared of the seemingly unfriendly location and confused as where their owners were, the siblings just sat and waited. Spotting an old culvert, they crawled in amid the trash and the piles of dirt, hoping to hide from the howling of predatory animals and the unrelenting heat of the sun.
Cars and trucks drove by and surely must have seen the dogs alone and scared, yet no one stopped. No one knows how long they had been out there.
Fortunately, the dogs had been spotted by a Good Samaritan who contacted Faith Easdale, founder of Dream Fetchers Project Rescue. And on Saturday, Faith and volunteers gathered their rescue equipment; gates, humane traps, food, flashlights and headed out to the location where the frightened dogs had been seen trying their best to survive in the hostile environment.
The dogs were spotted – still waiting for their human to return, but neither dog trusted anyone else. It was hot; there was no water and had the rescuers not shown up to help, the abandoned brothers would likely not have survived the weekend.
