A woman’s hero German shepherd likely saved his mistress from harm early Tuesday morning when a strange man approached her car as she was getting ready to leave for an early morning run in Wirral, England. Lorraine Scott had been out with her dog, Toby at the beach around 5:00 a.m. when she got “spooked” when a “strange man” approached her car.
According to the Echo, Lorraine had turned into the parking lot for the beach and spotted another car on her right side. She continued driving towards the steps of the beach and parked next to a vacant vehicle, and as she prepared to exit her car, she noticed the same car had turned around and pulled up beside her.
“I knew whoever it wwas had seen that I was on my own when I drove past, but I didn’t think anything of it at this point.”

Then Lorraine noticed the man stepped out of his vehicle and began walking towards her on the passenger side. She froze and as the man got dangerously close to her, Toby reacted to the stranger and started barking and growling. Not expecting a dog to have been in the car, the man jumped in shock, ran back to his car and sped away.
“I’m just really happy I had my protector with me. He’s naturally a protective breed and because of our bond he will always protect me. If I had been on my own, this might have been a different story – luckily my German shepherd is protective of me. I’ve been at this beach before and never had anything like this happen and there are people camping the night there so never usually though anything strange about people being parked up there.”

The stranger was dressed in black and had a shaved head, slim build and about 5′ 8″ in height. For now on, Lorraine will walk Toby with her husband present. Just be careful everyone – be aware of your surroundings and don’t forget to bring your dog.
