A woman pet-sitting for a self-proclaimed hobby dog breeder, was killed by the dogs she was caring for. According to multiple sources, 28-year-old Rebecca McCurdy’s body was found at a home in Skiatook, Oklahoma, on Saturday when officers visited the residence to perform a welfare check.

According to a release from the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, the dogs’ owner kept the canines in the home’s garage. The authorities stated:

There were several pit bull dogs caged in the garage. One of the dog cages was toppled over and there were many signs of a dog attack visible.”

According to the New York Post, the dogs were taken from the home and investigators are awaiting the woman’s official cause of death from the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to McCurdy’s obituary, she was married and had two children. Her obituary states, “Rebecca always had a smile on her face and brought joy and laughter to those around her.”
