Over the weekend, a woman jumped into the monkey enclosure at the El Paso Zoo and fed two monkeys named Libby and Sunday,  Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

The video was shared on Instagram with the following comment:

This is (unfortunately) real: A local woman crossed into the spider monkey enclosure at the @elpasozoo today and fed them… Hot Cheetos. #fitfamep

According to police, the woman has been identified as Lucy Rae; luckily she was not injured nor were the spider monkeys. A zookeeper stated the small monkeys could have seriously harmed her with their strength.

The monkeys have a special diet, and of course it doesn’t include Cheetos. She also put the monkeys at risk of contracting Covid-19. The zoo will be pressing charges.

  1. I do NOT understand what this idiot was thinking……..

I have been to some zoos where one can purchase special animals’ food and (under a zookeeper’s watch) put the food into a feeding pan for the animals. But NEVER anything like “human junk food”…….

Had those animals chosen, they could have harmed her (& probably would have been euthanized for protecting themselves)…….

I hope this idiot is banned from the zoo and has to do some community service work.
