An actress, Linda Holston, jumped to her death on Friday afternoon from the roof of a 46-story luxury high rise on Tenth Avenue with her dog in her arms. The 60-year-old performer had moved from California to New York City in 2017 and performed in local theater.
The dog, a rat terrier named Jake, was 16-years-and-a-half-years-old. A local veterinary receptionist stated Holston regularly brought her dog into the office for care and treatment. Holston’s online profile described her as being five-feet tall with brown hair and blue eyes. The photo shows her smiling with her black and brown dog, Jake sporting a gold bow.
According to the New York Post, Holston had just finished eating her last meal when she jumped to her death with her ‘lap dog’. Police told the Post they found a handwritten note from the woman talking about stress and bottles of medication in her apartment.
Anyone considering suicide should contact the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 or can chat with someone live on its website.
Rest in peace Linda and Jake.
