On Saturday, two days after 23-year-old Tina Tintor was laid to rest, hundreds of people, including friends and family, participated in a Las Vegas dog walk, in honor of her life. Tintor and her golden retriever, Max, were killed on November 2 when the car that Henry Ruggs was driving plowed into her vehicle.
Officials determined that Ruggs’ Corvette was traveling at 156 mph seconds before it smashed into Tintor’s Toyota SUV. Tina and Max were conscious but unable to escape the Toyota and horrified witnesses watched as fire consumed the vehicle. Ruggs, who was a Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver, is facing four felonies and a misdemeanor as a result of the deadly incident. As reported by the NCAT Register, he could face up to 50 years in prison if convicted.
At the honorary “Pack Walk,” owners put white bandanas on their canine friends as a symbol of peace. “Las Vegas is a large community of dog lovers and knowing this unfortunate event brought so many feelings,” one of the organizers said, reported TMZ. “We need this. We need the family to know the community is here for them as well.”
A GoFundMe created in Tina’s honor raised over $103,000.
