Update on dog attacked by homeless man with machete

On Friday afternoon, a crazed homeless man launched an unprovoked attack using a machete on a sweet, stray  pup in Tijuana, Mexico. A local woman had been feeding the young Chihuahua mix and was told about the random attack; she rushed out of her home and after searching the area, found the dog lying in the trash.

A Good Samaritan who had been feeding the dog jumped to the rescue and with the help of a local animal welfare organization, rushed the dog to a veterinarian where life-saving treatment was rendered. Once stabilized, veterinarians agreed the dog needed further advanced treatment, and through the efforts of Balooja’s Foundation, the dog was transported to VetCare Oaks Veterinary Urgent Care.

Now named Baltazar, veterinarians are providing him with the best care possible.
