Two 23-year-old Texas men are being held in conjunction with a horrible case of animal cruelty involving a puppy who was beaten, shot, and burned before being abandoned in a suitcase that was thrown into a dumpster. As reported by Fox 44 News, Alex Manuel Soto Cruz and Keishaw Aquino-Rodriguez were arrested after an investigation led the authorities to identify them as suspects.

The puppy was discovered on November 16 after someone heard noises and smelled something “foul” coming from a suitcase inside of a dumpster in the 200 block of East Hallmark. The person found a severely injured pit bull puppy inside of the discarded suitcase and reached out to animal control for assistance. At a veterinarian, the puppy was found to be suffering from a head injury and burns and though the pup is expected to recover, it will be scarred for life.

The puppy required extensive veterinary care, but survived and is now recuperating at a rescue organization until the case wraps up. The arrested men are being held on $90,000 bond at the Bell County Jail.

  1. POS monsters deserve maximum punishment please! Also, a lifetime ban is needed: from owning, caring for, possessing, and from residing in any house where ANY animal is present.
They need to forfeit ALL animals currently in their possession, and also pay back costs for ALL veterinary care if applicable. Let’s be serious about saving animals’ lives. Thank you.
