Troopers shoot man who fatally shot dog inside of crashed car

On Sunday morning, troopers were dispatched to investigate a car crash on Starlite Hill Road, in Warren county, New Jersey. According to multiple sources, the troopers discovered a man inside of the crashed car, which was in a ditch. When they tried to communicate with him, he shot a dog who was inside of the vehicle with him. After the man fatally shot the dog, troopers fired their weapons at the man, who suffered severe injuries.

As reported by NJ.com, the injured man was transported to a hospital, but he died a short time later.

There is limited information about this incident and the deceased man’s name has not yet been publicly identified. The Attorney General’s Office is heading up the investigation.
