Three-month-old puppy mauled by another dog and has been through hell

Nala is just three-months-old and has already been through hell. She was recently mauled by another dog(s) and suffered multiple bite injuries to her neck and head. It has not been established whether Nala had been tethered outside or if she escaped, but her injuries were severe.

According to ThisIsHouston, who stepped forward to help her, Nala’s wounds were never properly treated and after a week the infection  spread to the side of her face. When rescued, the skin on the side of her face had separated from her cheek.

On Sunday, the puppy underwent surgery to repair her face at Texas A&M Small Animal Clinic. The bad news is her ear canal had to be removed, and she can no longer hear out of one side. The ear flap remains, and she will have a unique characteristic.

“This girl may be young, but she is so courageous. She is a little warrior, and we are so proud of her for being so courageous. We are hoping she can discharge from A&M this week and she will go home into foster care where she will be spoiled and protected from harm,” the organization posted on their Facebook page updating the puppy’s condition.

Get well soon Nala. Everyone is rooting for you!
