In Paris, Texas, a sweet stray nearly starved to death arrived at the local shelter on Monday. The friendly dog’s eyes are hollowed out and because he is so weak from the lack of nourishment, he can barely stand. Still the dog, now dubbed Mel, wags his tail at his rescuers.
According to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC who have stepped up to help Mel, besides being a walking skeleton, he has presented with a severe case of diarrhea with blood. It is hoped Mel doesn’t have parvovirus, because in his weakened condition, he is not likely to survive such a severe disease.
Mel has been rushed to the veterinarian emergency hospital. Everything is being done to save his life.
