At a rural shelter in Texas, Billy arrived on Friday evening. Emaciated, filled with open sores, infected eyes and covered in mange, the young Doberman was in so much pain he could neither stand nor sit without crying out for help. Although the shelter staff’s hearts broke when they looked into Billy’s eyes – seeing his despair and fear, they did not have the funding to provide Billy with the emergency and life-saving veterinarian care he desperately needed.
And now for the seventh emergency in one week, Rescue Dog Rock NYC couldn’t say no to Billy’s rescue. That same evening, the rescue organization rushed Billy to an emergency veterinarian hospital.
Billy is the victim of extreme neglect and is believed to be only one-year-old. He seems to have given up on the will to live; surely the days and weeks he has been allowed to suffer have taken its toll on this puppy.
“We hope we are not too late to help Billy Boy,” the organization posted on their social media page with the heartbreaking photos of a dog barely past puppyhood left to suffer such pain and misery. “He needs so much medical help and we hope you will stand by Billy…”
