A sweet, old boy named Gabriel finds himself homeless in the twilight of his life. The 13-year-old German shepherd’s owner recently passed away, and now the Humane Society for Hamilton County (Indiana) is hoping that there is someone out there who would be willing to open their home to the elderly dog and care for him for what remains of his life.

On Thursday morning, the animal shelter posted a photo of Gabriel, writing:

Just look at his sweet face! It is time for Gabriel to retire and relax for the rest of his days. This senior man is a big gentle giant who deserves the best home to treat him with kindness. He ended up here after his previous owner passed away, so as you can imagine Gabriel has been through a lot of changes recently.

Gabriel’s needs are few…a soft bed, good food, and a loving owner who will take him for leisurely walks. Please help Gabriel connect with this person, whoever they might be, by sharing his story.
