Boomer is out of time. According to the Kansas Humane Society, this one-year-old medium sized pup weighing in at 59 pounds, has become very stressed and anxious at the shelter.
Boomer was surrendered by his owner because they were moving and could no longer care for their dog. The dog came from a friend who had the dog since he was a puppy. Boomer lived with two cats, two large dogs, one small dog and children between the ages of six and 12. He was friendly with all of them.
The shelter staff and volunteers describe Boomer as affectionate, playful, curious, active and social although he is shy with visitors. His favorite activities are cuddling and rough-housing, but his owners said he was always very loving and affectionate. He was an indoor pooch, but is not described as housetrained.
Sadly, Boomer has not done well in the shelter environment and has been showing fear and stress aggression. Today could be this boy’s last day alive.
“He is biting at staff when they attempt to kennel him. He drew blood on one occasion. The owner states in his surrender form that he will jump and nip when he’s trying to get your attention. They also state that he is stressed and fearful in new environments.”
