Two special dogs in Sacramento, California, are in need of a home together. The Sacramento SPCA has reached out via social media with the hope of securing a loving home for the bonded pair, writing:

We have a new bonded pair for you today!
Ila (Poodle mix) and Nala (Chi mix) are two senior ladies looking to stay together forever. Nala needed a double eye enucleation, so Ila acts as her seeing eye dog!

According to the shelter’s website, 15-year-old Ila is a calm, gentle dog who enjoys lounging on the couch. Her blind friend, Nala, relies on Ila for guidance and companionship. Her biography reads, in part,

Nala had both her eyes removed due to untreated medical issues and while blind, Nala adapts well to new surroundings and is still willing to explore. Nala enjoys spending time with people (if she isn’t sure where you are, she will bark to get your attention for some cuddles!), napping, and sun bathing in the yard when the weather is nice.

The shelter requires a home where Ila and Nala can live together. Will you please share their story?

Nala ID#A47817112

Ila ID#47817106
