A rescue group in Tennessee is searching for answers after taking in a badly burned cat, who appears to have been intentionally set on fire. On Thursday, Lucky’s Cat House wrote:

We just finished our 3rd hoarding case this year and tonight we got a call that made us cringe, cry, and get so angry.
I’m finding it difficult to type this…
This sweetheart is on his way to Blue Pearl Emergency clinic in Franklin as we speak, with staff standing by. This poor boy was set on fire. The authorities have been contacted.
Please say a prayer for this baby. We have chosen not to post the graphic side of him.

An update indicates that the injured cat will lose a leg because of the severe burns:

After a very very long night he is temporarily back at the cat house.
His wounds are at least a week old.. This baby has been suffering outside for a week after someone set him on fire.
We have no words…..
He is on pain medication and antibiotics to keep him comfortable until his back leg gets amputated.
Sweet boy just purrs and purrs. It’s ok now baby boy, we have you.

The shelter has indicated that this cat was set on fire last week near Ball Park road in Summertown, Tennessee.
