An animal shelter in Toledo, Ohio, had exciting news to share this week. Their longest resident, Dorito, was finally adopted. In a jubilant Facebook post, the Toledo Humane Society said:

Ladies and gentlemen, Dorito has left the building! 💜🐾🥳

Of course a huge thank you is in order for Dorito’s adopter – it is such a fantastic match and we are so grateful that he gave her a chance. She could hardly sit still, she was so excited to go home!

The shelter credited the community’s efforts to network Dorito’s adoption information. They explained:

Her adopter received multiple messages, telling him to come in and visit her and see if it was meant to be! We couldn’t save lives without the support and dedication of our incredible community and for getting the word out about the animals in our care. It is thanks to all of you passionate people that Dorito did not spend day 140 sitting her kennel.🤟🏻

This week, the shelter expressed dismay (and frustration) that the adorable pooch kept getting passed by – but that has all changed and she now has a real home. Congratulations Dorito!!
