Update 7/16/2021 – Apollo has been rescued!

A senior German shepherd, estimated at eight years of age, continues to wait for someone to save him from a busy California animal shelter. The dog, named Apollo, has been at the Victor Valley Animal Protective League Humane Society (VVAPL) since June, and he needs out.

On Monday, a volunteer photographer for the shelter writes:

We have several gorgeous Shepherds at VVAPL in need of homes/rescues ❤️ Shelter is pretty full so please share 🐾

Apollo is described as a big boy, weighing in at 103 pounds, who is both people and dog friendly. He arrived to the shelter as a stray, but nobody came to retrieve him. The shelter has Apollo listed as “rescue only” because he has two masses on his body – though there is speculation that the masses may be benign fatty tumors.

If you are interested in helping Apollo, please share his information to help it reach a reputable rescue agency.
