An Orange County, Virginia man has been charged with felony animal cruelty after authorities seized 12 dogs from his property in poor condition. A website for the suspect, Shawn Michael Deehan, states he is “a Master K9 trainer.”
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified on March 8, 2021 regarding a case of animal cruelty about an emaciated dog with an untreated injury with an exposed bone. A search warrant for the property and buildings owned by Deehan located in the 3000 block of Pannell Lane was issued.
Deehan owns and operates the canine training facilities “Global Dynamic Security” and “The Perfect Dog.”
Authorities discovered a dozen dog housed in crates littered with feces and urine causing burns to their skin. The dogs had no access to food and water, and at least one dog was emaciated with untreated injuries to his feet which required emergency veterinarian care.
Deehan, 60, faces one count of felony animal cruelty with additional charges pending
If anyone has any information concerning this case is asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 672-1200 and speak with Sgt. Angie Bonner.
