Seeking hospice help for 17-year-old dog dumped at New York shelter

A 17-year-old dog surrendered to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh, New York needs a compassionate rescue situation. Sadly, the people this senior most likely loved for most of his life decided to bring him to the shelter.

Shelter volunteer notes indicate he is emaciated, ill and has a screw in his stomach. In a situation like this, please concentrate on finding this dog veterinary help, compassion, love and hopefully a soft place to sleep.

Follow his plight here. Donations are currently being pledged to be given to an approved rescue organization when this dog is safely out of the shelter. Please share this heartbreaking story; we know there is someone out there who will lend comfort and love to this dog.
