On Sunday, someone whisked a puppy away from a North Carolina rescue organization’s fundraiser. Around 6:30 p.m., the 10-week-old pit bull, named Ms. Percy, was taken from the Pawfect Match Rescue fundraiser, which was held at the Niche Wine Bar in Holly Springs.

The distraught rescue group posted about the theft on social media, writing:

Please help us find Ms. Percy and we beg for a safe return back home 🙏🏻💖If you have any information on the where-a-bouts of Ms. Percy, please us know ! There are videos of the culprits on the pawfect fb page.We need all the help to bring her back home safely 🐶💖

And a $1,000 reward is being offered for her safe return. As reported by WRAL News, a woman had inquired about adopting the puppy at the event, but she was told that she had to complete an application and go through the normal adoption procedures first. Rather than following protocol, she simply walked away with Ms. Percy.

Anyone with information about this puppy’s whereabouts is asked to call the Holly Springs police at 919-552-7110 and/or email [email protected].
