Unbelievable carnage awaited officials who responded to a grim scene in rural Dunn County, Wisconsin, on Tuesday night. Someone had abandoned 33 cats and kittens, killing 15 of them. Now, a $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the killer.
The Dunn County Humane Society issued a release on Wednesday with details about the cruel situation:
A $3,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to an arrest of the person or persons responsible for shooting at least 15 cats in rural Dunn County. The offense took place near the Dunnville bottoms in the southwest corner of the township of Spring Brook in Dunn County. 18 live cats and kittens were successfully rescued, and 15 deceased cats and kittens were recovered from the scene.
Adding:
It appears that someone abandoned these cats on the side of the road, next to a pile of cat food. Someone then shot and killed at least 15 of those abandoned cats and kittens.
Wisconsin Statute 951.02 states: “No person may treat any animal, whether belonging to the person or another, in a cruel manner.” In this chapter, the definition for cruel means causing unnecessary and excessive pain or suffering or unjustifiable injury or death.
