A rescue agency that specializes in old and/or ailing German shepherds has reached out to the public with a request for positive energy for one of the dogs that just arrived to their care. The Thulani German Shepherd Rescue posted images of Asher T. (formerly known as Wayne at California’s Lancaster Animal Services facility), writing:
He is a super friendly, spirited boy who doesn’t complain about his obvious problems, but is always happy to meet new people and dogs with exuberant kisses and tail wags. If there ever was a dog that deserved saving, it is Asher.
Expressing horror and disbelief that someone allowed Asher to deteriorate to such a pitiful state of health. The staff at the Lancaster animal shelter did their utmost to help, but more intense veterinary intervention is necessary to help Asher recover. The rescue organization writes:
Asher has countless medical issues that we will deal with as they surface. We can’t wait to see his rich black-and-red plush coat emerge as we get his skin condition under control. This week we will start to deal with the orthopedic problems associated with his left front leg. His other numerous maladies will be treated in turn. But this clearly will be a long and expensive path for him.
Adding words of hope that better days are ahead:
He will need all of his positive energy to move from his present condition into the stunning dog we know he will be, both mentally and physically, but we know he has it in him.
