Champ, one of the Biden family’s “First Dogs of the United States,” has passed away. CNN broke the news on Saturday morning after President Joe and First Lady Jill Biden released a statement about the dog’s death.

Our hearts are heavy today as we let you all know that our beloved German Shepherd, Champ, passed away peacefully at home. He was our constant, cherished companion during the last 13 years and was adored by the entire Biden family.”

Adding:

“Even as Champ’s strength waned in his last months, when we came into a room, he would immediately pull himself up, his tail always wagging, and nuzzle us for an ear scratch or a belly rub. Wherever we were, he wanted to be, and everything was instantly better when he was next to us.”

Expressing love and sorrow for their companion:

“We love our sweet, good boy and will miss him always.”

Rest in peace Champ.

  1. Anyone who has ever had a German Shepherd in their life knows the void that is left when they go to the Rain Bow Bridge. They take a piece of your heart with them that will never be replaced. Rest in peace Champ, my sincere condolences to the Bidens, I know how much Champ will be missed.
