Police seek individual who shot dog multiple times

Police in Manassas Park, Virginia, are actively investigating a case of animal cruelty which involved a dog who was shot multiple times. According to an information release from the City of Manassas Park Police Department, the dog will likely lose a leg because of his injuries.

The release provides insight to the cruel incident:

Manassas Park Police is currently working the shooting of a dog that occurred at 9:26am at 9300 Manassas Drive, Manassas Park, Virginia 20111

Witness reports hearing 6 total gunshots and after the dog was shot, it followed the person back to Black SUV that was parked in the VRE parking lot and then fleeing the scene.

The dog was rushed to a veterinarian to be stabilized. The most recent update provides information about the dog’s condition, and the need for donations:

The dog was transported to MedVet located at 8614 Centreville Road Manassas, Virginia 20111 and is currently in stable condition; however, will possibly have his hind leg amputated.

The police department has received multiple inquiries regarding donations towards veterinarian bills and/or donations towards crime solvers.

Manassas Park Police will begin accepting donations at our headquarters located at 329 Manassas Drive Manassas Park, Virginia 20111
