Police in Eastpointe, Michigan, are searching for a man who was caught on video hitting a dog with a broom. The Eastpointe Police Animal Control Division is hoping that a member of the public will recognize the man and help the authorities bring him in for questioning.
On Monday morning, the authorities recounted what is known about the animal abuse case, writing:
ANIMAL ABUSE
Last night, our department received a video of a small tan dog being abused by a male subject. It appears that the man may have lost his dog and located it in a backyard on Brittany Street. While in the yard, he found a broomstick and began to strike the animal. The man DOES NOT live at that residence. We are searching the area trying to find this man. Please let us do our job.
Information needed
The authorities have asked for anyone with information about the man, and/or the dog, to contact them.
Does anyone recognize this man and small tan dog, possibly a pit bull/retriever mix? This man may live in the Brittany and Stephens area. We need to talk to him and determine what he did with the dog . Call our non emergency number at 586-777-6700 or contact Detective Welch at 586-445-5100 extension 1023 with any information.
