Owners surrendered their elderly dog because they ‘didn’t have enough time’ for her anymore

At over 14 years of age, a Cocker spaniel was surrendered to an animal shelter in Wildomar, CA, because her owners said that they “didn’t have enough time for her” anymore. If not for the help of a rescue agency, the elderly dog’s life may have drawn to a close at that shelter.

Thanks to Camp Cocker Rescue, the senior dog, named Hailey, has a second chance. The rescue group writes:

Hailey is a 14.5 year old black cocker spaniel with bad teeth and bad ears. Her owners turned her into the shelter because they don’t have enough time for her, which is the saddest thing for a dog in her later years. We know we will find her the best home with adopters who will love and cherish her as she brings joy to their lives!
The shelter did a great job bathing her and grooming her, she looks brand new.

Because of what appears to be a lifetime devoid of veterinary care, the expenses required to get Hailey feeling as good as possible are high. You can help the rescue organization get Hailey all of the care she needs by making a donation here.

She also needs a loving home! Find the rescue group’s Facebook page here to learn more. Rescue group’s website here.
