Meet Pinky; she is a two-year-old chunky low-rider who is no longer “in the pink” after having been surrendered to the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys, California.

And just in case you have been keeping a running account of the most ridiculous reasons owners have given to shelter personnel for surrendering their dogs, here’s another one even more absurd to add to the list:

What is the main reason(s) you’re giving up this dog? “Face Deformity”

What are your favorite things about this dog? “She is my friend.”

Pinky spent her life outside 24/7, and one can only imagine how sad she is inside of her kennel cage. On Thursday, she received a much needed bath and then her advocate, Sherry, was able to walk her around the shelter and sit with her in the lobby.

In the past, Pinky did live with children, but for now she needs a quiet home where she can successfully transition into her new life where she can live indoors, sleep on a soft bed and just decompress.

Share Pinky’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Doesn’t Pinky deserve better?

  1. Anyone who leaves their pet outside 24/7 isn’t getting rid of them because of a “face deformity” They just don’t want the dog period! Pinky looks like a sweet dog and I pray she finds a wonderful family of her own! As for her former family, they should be ashamed!

  2. HUH?! THESE LUNATICS HAVE A “BRAIN AND HEART” DEFORMITY!

PLEASE FIND THIS DARLING A LOVING HOME WITH SOMEONE SANE!

  3. There is nothing wrong with this precious treasure. I think the original owner has some serious issues though…….

I hope someone local can open their heart and home for Pinky!!! She deserves to be rehomed into a loving furever family where she will be treated as a beloved family member???
