A dog named Pepe has been waiting for over 300 days for a family of his own. Staff at the Pennsylvania SPCA hope that they can find the one special family who is perfect for this sweet boy to take him in.

On July 26, the shelter issued a plea on Pepe’s behalf, writing:

Pepe is nearing 300 days in our care. After that, he’ll have been here for almost a year. And when we search for the reasons why, we can’t really find them. Pepe is a smart, sweet boy who loves the friends he meets. His volunteer friends, or family really, report that he is wonderful on his outings outside of the shelter. His only flaw really is that he hates being in the kennel. And that should be easily solvable, right? He just needs to be adopted. He is looking for a home with adults, and no other pets. We found that home for Maxx, and we know there is one out there for Pepe too. Please share to help us find it.

And again on August 2 – hoping against hope that the “unicorn” person can be found:

“Is my family out there?”

Yes, Pepe, your family is out there. We just know it.

Pepe has been in our care for over 300 days, and he’s soon approaching the 1 year mark. Can we find his family before that? This smart boy is looking for an active, adult only home where we can be the only pet. We know, it’s a unique adopter, but we believe in unicorns – do you?
