In Spring, Texas, an adorable golden doodle puppy had been playing in his yard when his digging adventures seemed to have taken a turn for the worse. Somehow the precocious pup came upon a buried, loose drain pipe and of course, needed to get a better look. So as dogs follow their noses instinctively, and their heads are close behind, uh oh – puppy was stuck!

His family was not able to free the scared pup and called for the assistance of the Spring Fire Department. Spring Fire’s Engine 71 and Rescue 71 B shift arrived and worked together to rescue the pup. The team had to cut the pipe out of the ground before helping the puppy remove his head and regain his puppy dignity.

Although the puppy had been scared, which was understandable, he seemed to recover quickly. Not so much for the homeowners, however who had some repairs needed in their yard, but nevertheless, the pooch is fine.

Many thanks to our brave men and women firefighters. You guys rock!
