Former Royal Marine Paul “Pen” Farthing landed at Heathrow Airport on Sunday aboard a chartered flight carrying nearly 200 rescued dogs and cats.

“Arrived Heathrow with partial success of #OpArk. Mixed emotions & true deep feeling of sadness for Afghan today. Heathrow Ops centre, Border Force, HARC & Air Pets were all bloody amazing. Witnessed 1st hand the compassion Heathrow is showing Afghan refugees.”

The rescue attempt to save the staff and the animals “Operation Ark” was only a partial success. Nowzad confirmed that Farthing’s staff had not left the country, however nearly 100 dogs and 70 cats would soon be heading to foster homes after the required quarantine.

“He was devastated to leave his staff but knew by removing both the dogs and himself he would remove two big risk factors.”

The task now is to safely evacuate the entire staff.

  1. I commend you Paul Farthing for your compassion for these innocent animals by removing them from the terror & starvation they would experience. I wish more people would be more humane.
    Thank you.
