A neglected dog, found on the end of a chain, shivering in the cold in Muskegon, Michigan, has been rescued and now she is in need of a loving home. Pound Buddies took part in the rescue effort of the dog who is now known as Ladybug. On Friday, the rescue group posted images showing where the year-old dog had been living without shelter from the elements.
The rescue group explained to WZMM News that the sad situation was brought to their attention by a good Samaritan who was concerned about the dog’s welfare. Fortunately for Ladybug, her former owners were happy to hand her over to someone else – according to the rescue group, they wanted “nothing to do” with her.
Assuring their Facebook fans that she would never be ignored and cold again:
Today, one less dog is living on a chain. One less dog left outside in freezing temperatures with nothing for warmth. Shivering and wet. No food or water in days. Last night was the last night she will ever spend outside with a tight, heavy chain around her neck. She is now free from the people who were supposed to be “taking care of her.” Today one less dog is left alone to suffer. It was a good day.
