A young kitten is lucky to be alive after getting trapped inside of the walls of an Arizona man’s home. The Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA explained how the kitten was rescued over the weekend, writing:

Right before our shelter closed last Saturday, a young man came to the front door with a cardboard box and a tiny orange kitten. The young man had been hearing meows for days and found the kitten in the walls of his home. He rescued her and brought her straight to AAWL.

According to the animal welfare agency, the kitten’s eyes were crusted and swollen shut, and she was “severely underweight.” Now that she is in safe hands, she is receiving the care that she needs to recuperate. The shelter writes:

The little orange kitten is snuggled up in a foster home where she is getting daily medication and lots of TLC while she becomes healthy, strong, and ready for adoption.
