On October 9, a Maryland man was arrested for allegedly beating a dog to death with a broom for peeing on the floor. As reported by WMDT News, 28-year-old Nathaniel Ennels II is accused of bludgeoning a dog named Spanky approximately 15 times, causing the dog’s death.
The five-year-old miniature schnauzer was brutally attacked for peeing on the floor. According to witnesses, Ennels hit the dog and told him to get into a crate, but when the dog didn’t get into the crate, Ennels used the broom handle to repeatedly bludgeon the dog.
Authorities who responded to the residence were refused entry by the suspect. Family members who came home later found the dog’s body and took it to the police. Ennels was arrested and he is facing charges for aggravated animal cruelty and altering physical evidence.
