At the Manhattan facility of the New York City Animal Care Centers, a two-year-old dog who once lived in a house full of people and happily with another dog, is scheduled to be humanely euthanized on Monday. Lola was surrendered to the shelter after a new baby came along.

A volunteer writes:

“… This sweetie is hoping to find a forever home! Lola is a sweet shy girl who is a little lost and scared at the shelter! She loved her family and was playful with her fellow dog. Well behaved and house-trained, Lola wanted to please her people but the arrival of the new baby was confusing for her and she was dumped at the shelter because of it. Lola knows some commands, walks well on leash and wants so much to be part of a loving home…”

Check out Lola’s video:

Please note that Lola is New Hope rescue only. At the shelter, she did bite a handler when he was taking her out of the kennel room, and the dog was reacting to the other dogs. Once out of the room, she redirected, jumping up and biting resulting in two punctures and bruising on the person’s hand. At the care center, she is very fearful. She will need a slow approach and time to warm up to unfamiliar people and environments.

[Level 3]
Dogs with Level 3 determinations will need to go to homes with experienced adopters.

Please share Lola’s plight with approved rescue organizations, family, friends and social media contacts. It is important Lola be with the right organization and/or family to ensure a successful plan for this dog’s future. She is just two years old and needs help now.
