It was a scary day for a young Lhasa Apso who became wedged in a metal fence on the balcony on the third floor of an apartment house late Sunday afternoon in East Houston. In addition to the small pup being trapped, the temperature on the outdoor patio registered 196 degrees.

The Houston SPCA arrived and saved the frightened little pooch.

“Even though spring temperatures may seem mild to humans, leaving a pet outside in the direct sun can still have devastating consequences,” said Adam Reynolds, Chief Animal Cruelty Investigator. “If you plan on leaving your home, please bring your pet inside to ensure their safety.”
