In the Boston area, Benjamin, an adorable pooch who had been seized by authorities in August, is the last of the 24 dogs still waiting patiently for a home. Imagine this sweet two-year-old pooch watching everyone else walking out of the Animal Rescue League of Boston while he just watches and waits.

“Hey guys. How about me? Doesn’t someone want to take me home?”

If Benjamin could speak…

According to a press release by Chief Anthony Marag and the Randolph Police Department, the other 23 dogs and puppies seized in an animal cruelty case have all found homes – that is except for Benjamin. The dogs had been living in severe unsanitary conditions without access to food and water. A Randolph man was charged with 24 counts of animal cruelty in the case.

All of the dogs were taken in by the Animal Rescue League of Boston at their Dedham facility. Now as far as Benjamin, when he arrived at the rescue organization, even though he was very friendly, he lacked socialization skills and needed help to focus and learn manners. At the beginning he was very excitable, jumpy, mouthy and reactive to walking on a leash.

“Over the past two months, ARL’s behavioral staff and volunteers have worked extensively with Benjamin, and he has made tremendous strides maintaining focus and working on his manners.”

Press release

Benjamin will be able to continue his positive reinforcement and behavioral skills with his new family to ensure a smooth transition.

“Meet Benjamin! This handsome 2-year-old Pit Bull came to us in mid August through the help of Randolph Police Department during the emergency rescue of 24 dogs found living in deplorable conditions. Upon arrival at ARL, Benjamin has shown his big, active goofy personality to our staff and volunteers, and will never turn down a game of fetch! He is ready to find his perfect match but does prefer to be the only animal in your home to soak up all the love & attention.

If Benjamin is the right boy for you, visit the Dedham Animal Care & Adoption Center between 1PM-6:30PM or visit:
