At the crowded Fort Worth Animal Care and Control in Fort Worth, Texas, Kino has been “Red Listed,” which means he is at the highest risk of being euthanized. The Labrador retriever mix is barely a year-old and has not had much luck in so short of a life.

On November 3, 2020, Kino was an owner surrender. The happy adoption day came for him on December 19, but his new family returned him on January 9, 2021. The behavior team at the shelter has been working with him and reported the following:

“He can be shy when meeting new people, and takes some time to warm up to new situations and surroundings. Once he is comfortable, Kino loves to play with toys, get pets from his humans and go for walks. He has done well with other dogs in the shelter. Kino would thrive in a home with an adopter willing to give him time to adjust and someone that will continue to work with a positive reinforcement based trainer on helping Kino build his confidence. He would do best in a home without young children.”

Kino weighs 56 pounds, has been neutered and is heartworm negative. When inquiring, make sure to reference A46025662.

” Kino would do best in a home with no young children, but has done well with older children. He also has done well with other dogs and would love a playmate.”

Please share Kino’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. You can meet this boy at the  main shelter.

  1. If I were local, I would come and get him. I have room for a foster dog. Only one problem: I am in the Seattle area…….

I hope someone local can open their heart and home to foster this precious treasure. He deserves a lucky break in his life!!!
