At the Harris County Pets Resource Center in Houston, Texas, Zeus and his teddy bear were surrendered to the shelter when his owner’s landlord decided the friendly dog was no longer welcome. Sadly, Zeus is so depressed, and his feelings are hurt; his only consolation is to cuddle with his teddy bear and wait for someone to help.

  1. I am in the Seattle area or I would offer to foster. I work for a residential real estate company (we lease out apartments and mobile home spaces). We recognize that furbabies are part of the family. Our residents are allowed to have pets (2/household). It breaks my heart to think of a family pet for years suddenly banned due to rules changes…… a compassionate manager would “grandfather” in existing furbabies with their families (have the residents sign to acknowledge that they had the new rules explained to them) and not allow any new furbabies. Any furbaby who passes away can’t be replaced. This rule change does not affect ADA service dogs.
I hope someone local can open their heart and home for this precious treasure. He deserves to be in a loving furever family where he will be treated as a beloved family member.
